Five additional StandBy views may be in development for iPhone Duo, according to strings found in an iOS 27.1 simulator build. The September 28 discovery names Home Camera, Home Modular, Flow, Fade and Snoopy. Apple has not announced these views, so the code is a clue about possible software plans rather than a confirmed launch feature.
What the iPhone Duo StandBy leak shows
The findings come from developer and leaker pdfu, who described the code and rendered some previews from the current StandBy system. The names appear in localization strings associated with a new face interface. Those strings can reveal work in progress, but they do not prove that every face will ship. Apple may change names, delay a view or leave an experiment unreleased.
Home Camera is the most concrete hint. The discovered description refers to camera feeds from the Home app, with a single view or a grid of up to nine cameras. Home Modular appears to point toward smart-home information in a widget-style layout, although its finished behavior remains unclear. Flow and Fade sound like visual treatments, while Snoopy suggests an animated character face. These are interpretations of the discovered names, not product specifications.
Why a standing foldable changes the experience
Apple has already confirmed a broader StandBy role for iPhone Duo. The device can enter StandBy when set down on either display, even without charging. The new code hints at how Apple might use the phone’s folding shape. A camera grid could turn the standing device into a temporary home monitor. A modular face could show different data without opening an app. Neither use has been promised by Apple, and a simulator preview cannot show how well the feature would work on final hardware.
What Apple has confirmed so far
Apple says iPhone Duo will run iOS 27.1 when it becomes available on October 23. Its developer note also says that Xcode 27.1 will support the device’s new poses and orientations. Preorders begin October 16, according to Apple’s announcement.
That timing gives Apple a window to refine the software before customers receive the phone. For now, the reported five views are best treated as a preview of what developers found, rather than a checklist of features buyers can expect on day one. The final iOS 27.1 release and Apple’s own feature list will settle which faces are available.
