Apple Creator Studio’s November Update Has Different Requirements on iPhone and Mac
Apple Creator Studio’s next updates arrive in November, with new assistants in Keynote, Pages and Numbers among the additions relevant to iPhone owners. The subscription spans several platforms, but some of the most prominent new tools are explicitly tied to a Mac.

In its October 27 announcement, Apple describes the updates as free for existing subscribers. That means no separate update charge within the subscription; it does not make the paid collection free or establish that every feature is available on every device today.
The iPhone requirement goes beyond installing the app
The new assistants in Keynote, Pages and Numbers are beta features. Apple says they require an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27 or later, and are available in U.S. English only. A phone that can open the ordinary app therefore may not qualify for its new assistant.
Apple describes different jobs within those apps: designing and refining slides in Keynote, drafting or restructuring text in Pages, and organising data or recommending charts in Numbers. These are the company’s descriptions of the announced tools. They are not results from our own tests.
Model Context Protocol support is another, separate requirement. It lets external agents and tools read and edit content in the productivity apps, but Apple’s footnote requires macOS 27 or later. An iPhone meeting the assistant requirements does not thereby gain that Mac automation interface.
The music and video headlines have platform limits
Logic Pro’s new intelligent assistant is specified for Mac, needs an Apple Intelligence-capable Mac running macOS 27 Golden Gate or later, and initially supports U.S. English. The redesigned Browser on Mac analyses and organises sounds. Those details matter if someone is considering the subscription mainly for work on an iPad or phone.
Final Cut Pro for Mac gains built-in MotionVFX content and a workflow that sends timeline images to Pixelmator Pro and saves changes back. Compressor also adds encoding for Cinematic mode video recorded on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. That is a connection between capture hardware and a subsequent editing task, rather than a promise that the entire desktop workflow runs on the iPhone.
Our Designers of Tomorrow coverage shows how Apple’s creators move between devices for documentation, drawing and modelling. Check the app and machine needed at each stage before treating a cross-device subscription as a single interchangeable tool.
Check the bill and the calendar
New subscribers pay US$12.99 a month or US$129 a year. At the monthly rate, twelve payments total US$155.88, US$26.88 more than the annual price. This compares the published U.S. prices before any applicable taxes; regional offers and eligibility require their own check.
Apple says the free versions of Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform remain available. It also places Freeform’s image round-trip editing and text-to-editable-shapes features in December, after the November suite update. If one of those additions is the reason for subscribing, its own availability date is the one to watch.
